Indian Lake Board Approves High School HVAC Project – Peak of Ohio

Submitted by Jamie Ross

With a major installation project now complete, the Indian Lake School Board has given the go-ahead to update Indian Lake High School’s HVAC system and expand air conditioning throughout the building.

The board recently met in regular session for its October meeting. Superintendent Dr. Rob Underwood reports that the year-long project to repair leaking stucco areas and roof sections at the high school and middle school is complete. Covid relief money paid for most of these fixes. Additional Covid dollars will now be used to pay for another major upgrade in the district.

Underwood says, “We are truly delighted that the board has been able to put these ESSR-Covid Relief funds to good use which will help improve the overall air quality and learning environment for our staff and students.”

The HVAC project will also include new ceiling grids and new LED lights in the hallways of the original 1968 portion of ILHS.

Superintendent Underwood said ESSR 2 Covid funds would pay around $770,000 on the estimated $1.3 million project. The municipality will pay the rest. The project will start at the end of this school year.

The next Indian Lake School Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 21 at 6:30 p.m.
