Peak Lassen develops the world’s first fully integrated portable radar system for the detection of concealed weapons

Peak Lassen develops the world’s first fully integrated portable radar system for concealed weapons detection that can be carried anywhere in the field for use in law enforcement, military and private applications. Addressing one of the biggest threats to law enforcement as they work to ensure public safety, searches with physical weapons or “pat-downs” are very dangerous for people. who are carrying out the search, as well as for the persons being searched. Based on physical proximity and the controversial nature of physical contact, the serious threat of concealed weapons creates an emotionally charged interaction whether weapons exist or not – this tense scenario and the invasive physical pat-down can lead to a dangerous escalation of use of force may result in serious injury or death.

During the past year, Peak Lassen brought together a diverse adviser and committee leadership who previously held key positions in major U.S. law enforcement and civil rights organizations, including the roles of General Counsel for the ACLU, Chairman of the ‘National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, CIO of the United States Government, Commandant of the LAPD Officer, Executive Director of the Congressional Black Caucus, President of the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives, Board Member of the administration of the National Association of Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement, et al.

Hatch Graham, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Lassen Peak, said, “This diverse assemblage of perspectives helps the company in its development of a solution that serves all stakeholders seeking security and trust in the field. of public safety. The Series A capital will provide resources to realize the vision as the company moves closer to Pilots in 2023.”

Unlike more traditional concealed weapon detection systems, such as airport scanners, Peak Lassen is developing wearable technology that will enable highly accurate weapons detection to be performed anywhere in the field, from a reasonably safe distance and without physical contact – while providing safeguards that protect civil rights and privacy, and while providing a pathway to a higher level of accountability than today’s manual pat-downs.

Abroad, in countries where knife crime has reached alarming levels, Lassen Peak technology will have similar benefits. Paul NegusUK Managing Director for Peak Lassen states, “Knife crime in the UK has increased to over 49,000 offenses a year, which, in perspective, amounts to truly epidemic proportions. Therefore, wearable technology capable of detecting illegally concealed bladed weapons is a priority for UK law enforcement at the National Home Office Our Series A1 Strategic Capital will assist national law enforcement and special forces in their efforts to mitigate the growing trend of concealed edged weapons.

Peak Lassen recently received and successfully validated its proprietary Radar-System-On-Chip (RSOC) – this device will be at the heart of Lassen Peak patent pending portable system. The RSOC architecture provides an industry breakthrough in the lateral accuracy and range needed to distinguish key identifiers of dangerous weapons and objects, such as detailed features of guns and knives, while also discerning items which do not pose a threat. Additionally, the handheld scanner is designed with safety in mind, operating at a fraction of the power levels of a standard cell phone and at human-safe radio frequencies.
