Peak Milk Brand Celebrates Nigerian Para Powerlifting Team

The Peak Brand, Official Partner of the Nigerian Para Powerlifting Federation, has reiterated its commitment to maintaining its long-term support for the Federation’s athletes as they continually strive to win medals for Nigeria in international competitions. .

The team, also known as ‘The Unstoppables’, maintained their streak of impeccable performances in their final heroics at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England; and the 22nd African Championships in Saint Pierre, Mauritius, where they put up credible and medal-winning performances.

At a Peak Breakfast event recently held in their honor at the Surulere National Stadium, Lagos, FrieslandCampina Cluster Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, Ben Langat, affirmed the continued support of the Unstoppables by the biggest milk brand. from Nigeria.

The event also saw the Federation receive new sets of high-end wheelchairs, in addition to nutritional support to nurture athletes to perform even better in upcoming competitions.

The Honorable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Akin Dare, represented by the Deputy Director and Liaison Officer, Mrs. Ekanam Mbora, expressed his gratitude to the Peak brand for supporting the Para Powerlifting Federation and to its athletes, as well as to Nigerian sports in general.

Present at the ceremony were members of the new Board of Directors of the Nigeria Para-Power Lifting Federation (NPPF), led by the President, Mr. Charles Ezenwanne.

Langat highlighted the support the brand has given the team over the years which, in turn, has inspired the athletes to unprecedented heights, placing them among the most successful Nigerian national teams of all time. .

He also revealed that Peak had fully funded ‘the unstoppable’ at two international fixtures in 2019 and 2020. The sponsorships, he said, were preceded by a complete renovation of the team’s training center at the National Stadium in Lagos, which has also been outfitted with brand new equipment approved by the International Paralympic Commission.

He further noted that the brand had purchased an International Paralympic Committee (IPC) approved wheelchair mobility bus specifically designed for elite athletes. The bus, now completely refurbished after four years in the service of the Federation, was re-presented to the athletes for their continued use.

According to Langat, “the company’s decision to partner with the team is in line with the brand’s promise to enable its many consumers to reach their peak, regardless of limitations”, while emphasizing that, Through these contacts, “Peak has once again demonstrated that it is a brand committed to the ethics of corporate social responsibility and a patriotic focus and outlook.

The breakfast session also witnessed the presentation of ‘Unstoppable Humans of Change’, by FrieslandCampina WAMCO Marketing Director, Chris Wulff-Caesar. It is designed to identify unsung heroes among Nigerians with the same unstoppable spirit, and who strive to impact the world around them despite challenges and limitations, and serve as cheerleaders and ramp launch to further empower their cause.

NPPF President Ezenwanne expressed his deep appreciation to Peak for the brand’s various support to the Federation and its various activities since 2016, describing the country’s number one milk brand as “indeed, the number one sponsors of sport in the country”, to the applause of all present.
