FRISCO – At the end of July, Vail Resorts announced its intention to permanently merge with Peak Resorts. On Tuesday, it was announced that the deal had been reached with Vail acquiring Peak Resorts for $ 11 a share and adding 17 resorts to its portfolio.

The ski areas acquired by Vail Resorts include:

  • Mount Snow in Vermont
  • Hunter Mountain in New York
  • Attitash Mountain Resort, Wildcat Mountain and Crotched Mountain in New Hampshire
  • Liberty Mountain Resort, Roundtop Mountain Resort, Whitetail Resort, Jack Frost and Big Boulder in Pennsylvania

The 2019-20 Epic Pass, the Epic Local Pass and the Military Epic Pass will have unlimited and unrestricted access to all new ski areas. Peak Resorts Passes will be honored by Vail Resorts, and current Peak Pass holders will have the option to upgrade to either an Epic Pass or an Epic Local Pass.

Going forward, Vail Resorts has announced plans to invest around $ 15 million in acquired ski areas over the next two years. The company also plans to increase capital spending by approximately $ 10 million to continue supporting the acquisition.
